Shorter days are upon us as fall grows near. Join a Ranger lead 1.5 mile Solstice Hike to learn about Solstice and talk about many other cool finds along the way.

Come explore a recently prescribed burn unit with a Ranger and discover of fire helps shape the longleaf Pine Ecosystem. 1 mile hike.

In honor of Veterans Day the North Carolina Zoo will offer FREE admission for military personnel, veterans, and their spouses for the week of November 7 — 13 during regular hours of 9 AM — 4 PM.

Carthage Firefighters Association Food Truck Rodeo
Come hungry and enjoy a fun-filled evening while supporting local firefighters at the annual Carthage Firefighters Association Food Truck Rodeo on Saturday, September 12th, from 5 — 9 PM at the Moore County Agricultural Fairgrounds
H.I.K.E Meet-up

We are ready for more dancing at Live After 5 with the band Gary Lowder and the Smokin' Hot! Music, dancing, and kids’ activities will ensure a good time for all ages. Food trucks will be on-site with a wide selection for all to enjoy. Don’t forget to bring your chairs and blankets for the lawn! Friday, September 11 from 5:15 — 9 PM.

It’s time for the annual Rick Rhyne Fishing Tournament — celebrating an asset to our community and the children in it. This FREE tournament will take place on August 29 beginning at 9 AM.
SLAM’s Last Class
It’s given the motherhood community of the Pines something utterly beautiful over the past 9 years— SLAM, and we will miss the relationships it enables postpartum and within our community.

Each year brings a new theme, along with a wonderfully wacky parade, a kids’ pinebox car competition, and an exciting soapbox derby. Grab a spot along the route and enjoy all the fun as the colorful spectacle rolls by. Costumes are highly encouraged!

Become a Nature Detective! Help us identify animal tracks and discover which clues belong to each animal! We will read a book, play a game, and do a craft!
This program is best for children ages 3-5 to do with an adult.
