Join a Cherished Tradition at North Carolina’s Oldest Turkey Trot!

Celebrate the 43rd annual FirstHealth Pinehurst Turkey Trot 5K & Fun Run along with The Little Gobbler 1-Mile Fun Run on Saturday, November 22nd. Hosted at The Village Arboretum and organized by the Village of Pinehurst and Set Up Events, this festive run takes participants through the charming streets and neighborhoods of the Village.

Runners are invited to wear their most spirited holiday attire to add even more fun to the event! Every finisher will be rewarded with a commemorative medal and a cup of hot chocolate.

Each race registration includes a $1 donation to Women of the Pines, a wonderful local nonprofit that aids individuals who are sick, hungry, homeless, or experiencing abuse. Participants are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations to benefit the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina, which helps families in Lee, Moore, Richmond, and Scotland counties during the holiday season.

This festive community event will transform Cox’s Double Eagle Harley-Davidson into a cheerful holiday market featuring a mix of local crafters, artisans, and motoculture vendors – offering everything from handmade gifts and home décor to biker-inspired clothing, accessories, and unique holiday finds. It’s the perfect place to shop local, support small businesses, and give back to families in need this Christmas.

Santa, Mrs. Claus & the Elves

Santa & the Grinch will be onsite from 11 AM to 2 PM, with Mrs. Claus and her merry elves greeting families throughout the day! Families are encouraged to bring their own cameras or phones to take photos with Santa and capture special holiday memories at our festive selfie station.

Come hungry! Tanglewood Farms Food Truck will be serving up delicious local eats to keep everyone warm and cheerful while you shop and celebrate.

Giving Back to Local Families

Admission is FREE! We simply ask attendees to bring new, unwrapped toy donations to support local families in need this holiday season. These toys will be distributed directly to families during the Team Workz Christmas Meal Event, helping make the holidays a little brighter for the children in our community!

Each Thanksgiving morning, a long-standing and distinctive tradition takes place in Southern Pines, North Carolina. The Moore County Hounds welcome the public to their Opening Meet for the annual Blessing of the Hounds. Rooted in a practice that dates back to the Middle Ages, this ceremony officially ushers in the foxhunting season and brings together riders, hounds, and more than a thousand spectators to honor community, sport, and heritage.

A treasured Southern Pines tradition for over a century, the Blessing of the Hounds will be held on Thursday, November 27th. Celebrate Thanksgiving by attending this memorable event in person, hosted by the non-profit organization Preserve the Sandhills. It’s a delightful way to kick off the holiday season. The Blessing begins promptly at 10:00 a.m., so visitors are encouraged to allow extra time—at least an hour—for parking and the walk from Lyell’s Meadow to Buchan Field.

Those interested in securing a prime tailgating location can contact Moore County Hounds for additional information. Please note that pets are not permitted. As one of North Carolina’s oldest recognized foxhound packs and among the few remaining private ones, Moore County Hounds is proud to host this special gathering, with a limited number of VIP tailgate spots available.

Santa and Mrs. Claus are coming to the Gardens again this year for our annual Santa in the Gardens event! Especially created for children and families, it will be an afternoon full of holiday fun and activities, including making reindeer food, writing letters to Santa, and learning about plants. Your little one may want to get their face painted, complete a scavenger hunt, or try making a simple holiday craft to take home with them. Cookies-n-Moore will also be on-site with a free cookie and beverage for each child!

New this year...Santa and Mrs. Claus will have their very own tent for visitation and photos. We have teamed up with a local photographer, too, who will be offering professional digital photos for those who are interested. You must register and pay for the professional photographer service ahead of time, so please check the appropriate ticket when registering.

PLEASE NOTE: Santa visits will be divided up per hour, so please choose the ticket with the desired time frame: 12-1pm, 1-2pm, 2-3pm, or 3-4pm. This hour is just your time to arrive and visit Santa and have photos taken if applicable. All other activities can be done anytime after the event starts and you are welcome to stay as long as you want.

As always, we will be collecting canned and non-perishable goods to donate to our SCC Campus food pantry. Any contributions you can make to that will be very much appreciated!
